![]() ![]() I thought it was worth the money and it still. So I bought a new one for 2020 (and 2021). Initially I wanted to use my 2019 but I ran out of licences. So I then decided to use my faster 2017 MacBook laptop. 2019 was running fine, in terms of editing, but my old machine just does not have enough power for my current projects. ![]() I had used much older Camtasia's before but they kept crashing. I used 2019 for a short while on my older MacPro big machine, which runs on High Sierra. That sucks for you, Julian, but I am happy that I am not the only one with this issue. See you (hopefully) at the other end of the downgrade. I was supposed to deliver 5 days worth of footage (resulting usually in videos of 15-20 minutes) and after 2 days I have 2 painstakingly created videos that are not even finished and cut to the right clip sizes.Īnyone who can help is most welcome to comment. This seems to me related to the video rendering and I have no idea if this Camtasia specific of OS specific. And then see what happens, if I manage to do it. I am going to try and roll back to Big Sur 11.2 which is not that easy. ![]() I don't remember this from before: the thumbnails of a clip come up slow, the do not show for the active clip, but they do show for the one before and after. Regularly, Camtasia jumps back to an earlier clip, completely unrelated and I have to start scrolling forward again and things slow down again. As soon as I stop and scroll back to find the right spot to ripple delete, trouble starts, images start stalling and halting. First time I scroll forward through the clips, everything fine. Same thing: as long as I go normal speed there is nothing wrong. Then I add the clips in ascending date order. Cannot change to name right at the beginning. I am unable to sort by name until after I sort by the default: media type. I then created a completely fresh Camtasia file. ![]() But when I need to edit and scroll through the clips, going forward is still OK but from the moment I scroll back things start stalling. Everything works when playing at normal speed. Then restarted, opening an existing project in Camtasia 2021: same story. I have done extensive system maintenance, shut down the computer for a good 15 minutes. Do you have similar experiences with this latest update of the OS? I restarted 3/4 times after the update (including a cold shut down and re-start). I work in IT, I know my business - saying that not to sound arrogant, just to indicate that I know what I am doing.Īnything you can think of I can do? Clear local files? Caches? I cannot afford to stick with the old OS because it would expose me to a serious threat. But I would like to know if there is something I can do about this.īoth 20 show the same slowed down performance. I realise that this may not even be due to Camtasia, as this started to happen after my emergency upgrade to Mac Big Sur 11.3 that was strongly recommended today. Then I need to scroll back and everything slows down to a trickle. Here is what I am seeing: when I load the files onto the timeline, the first time I scroll forwards in a clip, it looks fine. It looks to me as if something is wrong with how the files are kept in memory. Local source files in my Documents folder. I created a brand new file, with all source files located on the local hard drive. ![]()
